Granting Hope ("we", "us") respects your privacy. This notice explains what personal information we collect through this website, why we collect it, and how we look after it. We follow the Australian Privacy Principles under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).
What we collect
When you join our community, we collect:
your first name, last name and email address
a record of your consent: the date and time you signed up and confirmed, the wording you agreed to, your IP address, your browser type, and how you found us (for example, a link from a partner organisation)
We only collect what we need. We don't ask for your address, phone number or payment details.
Why we collect it
We use your details to send you email updates about Granting Hope and our events. We keep the consent record so we can show that you agreed to hear from us, as required by the Spam Act 2003 (Cth). We won't use your information for anything else without asking you first.
How we confirm your sign-up
After you sign up, we email you a link to confirm your subscription. If you don't confirm within 30 days, we automatically delete your details, including the consent record.
Who can see it
Only authorised Granting Hope volunteers can access your details, using secure, two-step login. We never sell, rent or share your information with other organisations for their own marketing, and that includes our partners.
Our website and email are hosted by [Crazy Domains] on servers located in [Australia]. They store the data on our behalf but don't use it for their own purposes.
How we protect it
Your information is stored in our own secure database, with encrypted connections (HTTPS), restricted access and regular backups.
Unsubscribing
Every email we send includes an unsubscribe link, which works immediately. You can also email us at info@grantinghope.org.au and we'll remove you within 5 business days (usually much sooner).
How long we keep it
We keep your details while you're subscribed. If you unsubscribe, we stop emailing you straight away, but we keep a record of your consent and unsubscribe for [2 years] so we can show we've followed the law. After that it's deleted.
Cookies
This website only uses the essential cookies needed for it to work securely (for example, to protect the sign-up form). We don't use advertising or tracking cookies.
Accessing or correcting your information
You can ask to see the information we hold about you, or ask us to correct or delete it, by emailing info@grantinghope.org.au.

If you have a question or concern about your privacy, please contact us first at info@grantinghope.org.au and we'll respond within 30 days. If you're not satisfied with our response, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at oaic.gov.au.
